The Royal Abbey of Fontevraud was founded in 1101 on the borders of Anjou, Touraine and Poitou. Eleanor of Aquitaine spent her final years there, after serving as Queen of France and England. His statue stands in the heart of the abbey alongside those of Henry II Plantagenet and Richard the Lionheart.

Built on a 13-hectare site, Fontevraud Abbey is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Montreuil bellay castle

Founded in the XIᵉ century by the Count of Anjou, Foulque Nerra, the Château de Montreuil Bellay stands in the heart of the walled town of Montreuil-Bellay. After the revolution, the château was bought by a wine merchant who created the current wine estate . Double the reason to come and discover this beautiful building. The tour lasts around 1 hour and takes you through its history over the last 1,000 years. The tour is open to all ages, from 7 to 77!
