11,000 years ago, the sea existed in Doué-en-Anjou and was called the Falun Sea. Over time, galleries were created in the remaining cliffs. Doué-en-Anjou has restored this site to show you what existed underwater and on land over the last 10,000 years.

Terre de Rose

Doué en Anjou is the capital of the Rose. The distillery, Terre de Rose, welcomes you every year from April to September. The grounds cover 8 hectares with over 80 breeds of roses. During your walk, you can visit the distillery and discover the secrets of rose essential oil production. The little ones can enjoy the animal park. You can then access the 3 troglodytic rooms.

This visit is ideal for providing a total change of scenery for the whole family.

In the Anjou region, 1,200 km of tunnels have been dug around Saumur over more than 11,000 years. You can visit exceptional sites such as the mysteries of the faluns or the troglo village at Rochemenier.

You can also visit mushroom cellars, troglo wine cellars and of course dine in a restaurant serving local specialities…

The Paths of the Rose
in Doué

Les Chemins de La Rose is a rose garden created in 1999 in Doué la Fontaine, the birthplace of the rose. An English-style garden spread over 4 hectares, you’ll discover many varieties of roses – around 13,000 different varieties. The park is open from March to November, with each season bringing a different type of flower to life. Tours are available for individuals, families, groups and even 2CVs !

Our campsite is located between Saumur and Cholet. You will find of course a lot of others visits to do like for exemple inSaumur le cadre noiror the musée des blindésas well the parc oriental à Maulévrier.
